Sitting at home nude is all well and good. In fact it can be terrific. But naturism is almost always better with good company. So with that in mind, here are some August naturist events to get you out and about in the buff.
1 – 6 August — Northeast Naturist Festival
USA | Empire Haven Nudist Resort & Campground, Moravia, New York
It’s advertised as six days of “fun, growth and community”.
5 August — National Be Naked Day
UK | From the organizers website: “People across the Nation are encouraged to try something different – Saturday August 5th is National Be Naked Day, so join in and spend some time naked to find out what it is really like. Explore this website to discover ideas and to read further information.”
10 – 13 August — Canadian Naturist Festival
Canada | Bare Oaks Family Naturist Park, Sharon, Ontario
Workshops and seminars, volleyball, the Annual General Meeting for the FCN, nude golf, etc.
12 August — Skinnydipper Nude Swim
Canada | Surrey, British Columbia
17 – 20 August — Western Naturist Gathering
USA | Sun Meadow Nudist Resort, Worley, Idaho
19 August — Annual Beach Potluck
Canada | Three Mile Beach, Penticton, British Columbia

19 – 27 August — Gay Naturists International’s The Gathering
USA | Pennsylvania
This event is men only (age 21 and over). Activities include workshops, rafting, professional entertainment, wrestling, drag shows and yoga among others.
23 August – GoTopless Day
USA | From the GoTopless website: “This year, GoTopless Day falls precisely on Women’s Equality Day, Aug 26. It is indeed on Aug 26, 1920 that women earned their right to vote on the basis of Gender Equality. In 1971, the US Congress has made Aug 26 into a nationally recognized date and named it “Women’s Equality Day”. The president of the United States is summoned to commemorate this date each year. It is only logical that GoTopless Day protests (or celebrations depending on the legal status of your city) would fall on Women’s Equality Day since the right to go topless for women is based on gender equality as their right to vote once was.”
As always, if you know of an event not listed here, please send the details.
